About & methodology

What is it?

The 2026 World Cup Simulator is an independent, unofficial, free project made by football fans. It lets you predict how the 2026 World Cup will end —groups, knockouts and champion— using the official FIFA bracket, while also showing real results and live standings.

How the simulator works

You choose the result of each group match and the final group order. From there we compute the standings (points, goal difference, goals for) and build the knockouts following the official FIFA bracket, including the allocation of the 8 best third-placed teams per Annex C of the official regulations.

Real results & live standings

Real scores and standings update automatically about every 15 minutes from a sports-data API (football-data.org). Matches already played are locked with their real result; you only predict the rest.

Data & sources

Groups, teams, venues, dates and kick-off times come from the official FIFA final draw and schedule (draw of 5 December 2025). Live results come from football-data.org. Times are shown in Spain time (CEST). Flags may come from third-party services.
